Last week, the House Ways and Means Committee voted down an amendment proposed by Representative Dean Heller, Republican from Nevada. The proposed amendment to the Obamacare Healthcare Plan would have prevented millions of illegal aliens from being covered under the healthcare plan. The Democratic / Obama plan calls for blanket coverage for 15% of the population not currently covered under some type health insurance plan. Yes, this would include illegal aliens.
The Congressional Budget Office concluded that the Democratic plan would cause an additional $1,000,000,000,000.00 (that’s a trillion) in federal tax spending over the next 10 years. This is Washington’s idea of lowering cost. Who is going to pay for this? The American taxpayer, i.e., people who are responsible enough to have a job and pay for their own healthcare plan.
Thank you, Representative Heller, for attempting to inject some logic into this healthcare debate. Why should we pay for services for people who are here illegally? It does not make sense. Hopefully, members of Congress will ultimately see that this healthcare reform bill is a bad deal for those who will be required to pay for it, the American bill /tax payer. Let your voice be heard. Call your elected Representative and Senator’s office to voice your opposition to this healthcare bill.
