St. Clair County Republican Party Chairman Joey Stevens announced earlier tonight at the regularly scheduled party meeting that the St. Clair County Republican Party had complete the requested vote recount by the Tim James Campaign. Stevens indicated that the vote count for Tim James and Robert Bentley remained the same as the vote count on the June 1st primary. The announcement by Stevens was met with applause from the crowd gathered at the St. Clair County Courthouse in Pell City.
“The process was seemless and without any real surprises”, Stevens said. Chairman Joey Stevens further remarked, “Our ability to complete the recount was the result of real team work. We partnered with Probate Judge Mike Bowling, Sheriff Terry Surles, Circuit Clerk Annette Hall and eighteen experienced poll workers. The group deserves a lot of credit. I am happy to have had the opportunity to work along side of them during the recount”. Stevens concluded, “I am hopeful that we, as a party, can move forward to the run-off on July 13th and then to the general election in the fall”.
