On August 11, 2009, the St. Clair County Republican Party will host a republican gubernatorial forum. Bradley Byrne, Tim James, Bill Johnson, Kay Ivey and Robert Bentley are scheduled to appear. This event will be the first of its type this election cycle. St. Clair County Republican Party Chairman Joey Stevens stated “this is a unique opportunity for the candidates to come to St. Clair County and meet our voters. At the same time, the format of the forum will allow voters to get to know the candidates and their respective agenda for our great state. At the end of the question and answer session, we are going to conduct a straw poll and announce the results at our next party meeting on August 20, 2009.”
The 2009 St. Clair County Republican Party Gubernatorial Forum will be held at St. Clair County High School in Odenville. The candidates will participate in a reception line beginning at 6:00 pm and the forum will begin promptly begin at 7:00 pm.
“We want a large crowd. The more people we can engage in the conversation, the better. I would encourage residents of our county and surrounding counties to attend the event”, stated Chairman Stevens, “the well being of our state is at stake in this election”.
